The Greatest Journey of All

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so we  shall ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18).

Is your heart, mind, and soul ready for the greatest journey of all ? May God’s words comfort you and encourage you to reflect on your life.

What the World!

via Daily Prompt: Finite

Romans 8

“What the world” an expression my secretary uses when things are going array or if someone did / or said something that was not morally or ethically correct. I just love that expression, it just zooms in to the finite mindsets of many people in the world today and why this world is in a corrupt and vile condition. In my perspective, a human being’s finite mindset is one that demonstrates a sinful nature, whose focus is on material and physical things whose life is rooted in worldly things and not the spiritual. This sinful nature has no moral or ethical guidance. Look people! This kind of mindset is not going to get by with God. There is a need for a major transformation. Don’t you think so? Do you like the world as it is?  Think and ask what do I need to do make this world better? Christians, apostle Paul gives us the answer in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove that is that good,  and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Yes, I know this is a process (sometimes a long one), but, Christians, you have help, the helper Jesus sent; the Holy Spirit, remember Him? He can help you transform  your sinful natured mindset into one that is of the Spirit.

Christian’s are to be spiritually minded (Romans 8:6), living and walking in the Spirit(Galatians 5:25), not as finite human beings walking in the “flesh” because of their sinful natured mindsets. “Flesh can produce only flesh  but the Spirit gives birth to Spiritual life” (John 3:6). This is a life that is pleasing to God. You want to please God don’t you? You do want to live in fellowship with Him don’t you?

God is the Father of all, meaning that His providential care and love is extended to all (Matthew 5:45), understand it like this’ He is creator of all! Our Father, wants us (Christians) to be empowered and yielding to the Holy Spirit.

The mindset that of the Spirit can change this vile and corrupt world. Just  saying “ what the world” will not change people or the turbulent condition of the world.

Prayer

Father, I pray that  the mindsets and the hearts of mankind be renewed through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Stormy Waters

Matthew 8:23-27

A fierce storm had brewed causing the waves to cover the boat. The disciples were over-come  they cried out to Jesus”Lord save us, we are perishing.” Yes, Christians we are perishing is it because as Jesus said to them ” why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Is it because many Christians have little faith or lost their faith? Do Christians still believe the power of God? Have Christians forgotten who they can cry out to?

Jesus arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. The wind and the waves were obedient. Perhaps, if there were more Christians who were faithful and obedient to the word of God the stormy waters in the world today would become a great calm. “O you of little faith, cry out, Jesus save us we are perishing.”

“Faith believes, demonstrates obedience, gives assurance, provides hope, breaks down strongholds, builds relationships, and leads to a better world.”

Prayer

Father, save us we are perishing, we need Jesus, to calm the the stormy waters. Father, restore and strengthen our faith, give us an obedient spirit. Amen

“Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you. You rule over the surging sea; when waves mount up, you still them. ”                                          Psalm 89: 8-9 NIV

Peace,Joy,and Love

MY PURPOSE,MISSION,and VISION

Purpose: I love God because He first loved me (1 John 4:19); He made me alive when I was dead in trespasses, walking the course (path) of the world (Ephesians 2: 1,2). God was rich in His mercy and  made me alive in Christ, saving me by His grace (Ephesians 2: 4,5). God gave me a purpose to advance His Kingdom. My desire is to do the will of God; pleasing and glorifying Him in advancing His Kingdom here on earth.

Mission: Reconciling the world (2 Corinthians 5:18) and calling  people back to steadfast devotion and obedience to God and His word ( Jeremiah 16:6); walking accordingly to His commands and ways (Deuteronomy 5:33; Psalm 1; Jeremiah 7:23); leading and teaching them through the power of the Holy Spirit and His inspired word.

Vision: Spiritually minded believers walking in peace (Romans 8:6), glorifying God (1 Chronicles 16: 28, 29); actively serving Him/ others, by sharing His  love (Romans 12:9-13).

My prayer is that God’s purpose, mission, and vision for me, will  advance His Kingdom; reconcile the world, and call people back to Him; encouraging them to be spiritually minded in true devotion and obedience to Him; walking in peace, serving Him, and others in love.

“May the grace of the lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all, Amen.”

New Birth

On 7/28/2017, while I was attending a conference on Mental Health, the ministry of “Wind Gust” was given birth. The morning of my birth, I was instructed to “be bound by the Spirit (Acts 20: 22 NLT),” “listen” to the Holy Spirit, and acknowledge, “that my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me — the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God (Acts 20:23,24 NLT).” God’s spoken word followed me to the conference.

The conference was a time of reflection and purpose. Reflection of my life experiences, in caring for people, with mental health issues/ concerns, in my workplace / community and reflection on how this  learning experience was related to my relationship with God and my purpose, to bring the Kingdom of God into the hearts of man. While I was sitting and listening to one of the speakers, I remembered the night when I was alone in my game room, and the door that lead to the garage blew open, this was a strange event in my life, because the garage door was down. My question was how did this happen?  That night I wrote the poem “A Friend,” speaking of the Holy Spirit. This enlightening moment, during the conference, birthed the thought “a divine gust of wind can transform your life.” “Wind Gust” is the ministry of the Spirit, born to tell the “Good News” of God’s grace.
